Restoring Willamette Valley’s native plants and trees. This is one of Ezra Childress’s biggest passions. Ezra is a long-time advocate for native restoration, and is excited to take jobs where he can make a difference, especially with oak savannahs.
Oak Savannahs
Oak savannah restoration involves:
- removing firs and invasive species from the oak savannah,
- carefully thinning the oak canopies to allow light to reach the lower levels, and
- deadwooding the oaks.
These actions help the oaks reach their full, mighty height.
“As the Lead Groundskeeper at Linn-Benton Community College, I have relied on Ezra for many years to help me take care of the trees on all of the college campuses.
Ezra is a dedicated arborist, with a genuine concern for the overall health and longevity of every tree that he works on. He is also a very fair, honest, and down-to-earth person who is always a pleasure to work with. For consistent, quality tree work, I cannot recommend Childress Tree enough.”
