Cranes, Chainsaws, and a Coil of Rope: Safe Tree Removal

Childress Tree crew chainsawing off branches during tree removal

An ice-damaged birch… a diseased Dutch elm… a Douglas fir that’s outgrown its space… Sometimes tree removal is necessary. The important thing is that it’s done safely.

Ezra Childress has more than 20 years experience, and we use a full grounds crew to keep the job moving fast.

Our services include complete tree removal, hauling away debris, and grinding down the stump if desired.

In addition to a great crew, we have the professional equipment to safely and efficiently meet your needs.

Signs to watch for:

If you notice any of the following, call us for an assessment. These can indicate a dying, diseased, or hazardous tree:

~ A trunk that leans
~ Deep cracks in the trunk or between large branches
~ Dead branches
~ Several large, heavy branches growing different directions
~ Fungus
~ Areas missing bark or leaves

Our Equipment — and how it helps with your tree removal

~ ACCESS MATS ~

Is your tree in a backyard?

Do we need to drive through your neighbor’s lawn to reach it?

Heavy equipment and heavy logs can chew up grass or muddy ground, and crack stone pavers.  When needed, we use plywood sheets and/or access mats to help protect your yard.

~ BUCKET TRUCKS ~

Experienced climbers (like Ezra!) are the backbone of successful tree service businesses, but they can’t get everywhere. Our bucket truck allows Ezra to work quickly and easily in tricky areas. This makes weight reduction, for example, much more price effective.

~ STUMP GRINDERS ~

Sometimes homeowners want to leave the tree stumps as a rustic seat or decorative base for a planter.  More often, they want the stump completely gone. Our stump grinder is at the ready.

We can leave you the wood chips or take them away, your choice.

~ CHIPPER ~

Branch/brush clean-up is part of the job.  As our climber or bucket truck operator cuts branches, our crew “feeds” them to our chipper.  This can create a lot of bark chips.  Let us know if you’d like us to leave them for you as ground cover!

~ CRANES ~

With a limited range, a 60-foot bucket truck sometimes is not enough.  When needed, we rent a crane.  150-foot fir tree?  No worries.  We can take care of that.

“Great crew!  Super capable, amazing skills, and all the right equipment.  They removed an 80 foot tall Pin Oak that had been damaged, and the work was impressive.  Huge tree was removed carefully, chipped up, and stump ground in no time.  Highly recommend!”

The most important tool we use?

~ COMMUNICATION ~

From the first time you call us till clean-up is finished, Ezra and his crew will be listening to you.  We don’t just want you to point to the tree you want pruned or removed.  We want to hear your concerns.  Breakable garden gnomes or ceramic pots?  Privacy from your neighbors?  Shade for your office?  It’s not simply about your trees.  It’s about your home.

“Ezra and his crew did an excellent job removing a big leaf maple that had started to rot in our backyard.  There were many obstacles like a power line, hot tub, narrow driveway, and it was growing close to our house. They worked around it all! Very satisfied with the job and cleanup.”
